hip tranquil chick podcast #37: hip & tranquil detox

HTC: June 27, 2006 Shownotes

Welcome to the 37th edition of the Hip Tranquil Chick podcast: a guide to life on and off the yoga mat. Produced from our oh-so-tiny office (wrongly coined a closet by our electrician!) at Tranquil Space Yoga in Washington, DC.

Today’s podcast is an interview with Gina Kelley on hip and tranquil detox, topped of with a pose of the podcast, hip tranquil chick suggestions, hip tranquil chick chat, and fun podsafe music! View our shownotes at hiptranquilchick.com/blog.

Gina Kelley is the studio director, yoga teacher and newbie program coordinator at Tranquil Space yoga in Washington DC. She appreciates how the practice of yoga transforms one's life both on and off the yoga mat. Her teachers and inspirations have included: Kimberly Wilson, Shiva Rea, Joe Miller, Pema Chodron, and Martha Lonergan. In recent years, Gina has studied with shepherd faught on the school of natural cookery methods for preparing foods intuitively and naturally, and has become extremely interested in eating and preparing a whole foods diet. Gina lives with her husband Tim and their two sweet cats, Grayson and Sassy, in the Logan Circle neighborhood of Washington.

Hip Tranquil Chick Chat: “Wow ... today's announcement of the Tranquil Space Foundation is not only impressive but seems like the perfectly logic next step. And, as a fellow small business owner, I know that while logical, the next steps take guts, initiative and passion.

One year ago today, I left my "secure" gig as a marketing executive to return to school and obtain my esthetician's license. I've always loved skincare and all topics of wellbeing; and I felt like this was an avenue to "my own" ... time, business, etc.

I started reading your blog and listening to your podcasts a few months back. They have been encouraging, inspiring and great companions on this new journey.

Congrats on the foundation; looking forward to hearing about its evolution and seeing its good works. In the very best way, I feel even more motivated to get involved, get in the game and have fun doing it.”
