wednesday well-being: pets

after losing beloved bonnard in july i've been craving another black furry being to love at the pink palace. we saw black cats at many of the campgrounds we stayed at {one was gifted a can of le beau's tuna} during the tranquility tour and it felt like a sign. and, truth be told, i'd totally be the crazy cat, dog, and pig lady if i didn't have a voice of reason {le beau} nearby.

since the loss of bonnard, we've agreed that one kitty and one le pug in our tiny home {full of white furniture} feels more manageable. yet, i am like a kid in a candy store since checking out petfinder the other night. how had i not perused this site before? so many lovelies! truly had trouble sleeping monday night as i was so excited about the potential of a little black kitten to hold.

the above pic is a sweet kitty named jacob who i first reached out to, but no response. we found another darling in maryland who promptly responded {well done} and i began filling out an application. then le beau encouraged me to check washington humane society. duh!

we've supported them for years and i falsely assumed petfinder had all locals featured. clearly i'm a newbie to the formal adoption process. i've only had an alley cat {bonnard}, an adopted kitty from a former colleague moving in with birds {matisse}, and le pug {from le beau's hometown newspaper}.

now i've got emails in to a couple foster parents to set up visits and i would have taken my little "asana" down to their shelter today to visit two on hand if it hadn't been the one day a week they close. my heart skips a beat when i think of bringing this new being into our home.

these critters offer such love and studies show that pets make us happier and healthier. want to decrease stress, lower blood pressure, ease pain, lower cholesterol, improve mood, or improve immunity? consider adoption or fostering this holiday season. there are so many beings in need of a loving home. and you'll benefit greatly in the exchange, too. promise.

i can't wait to introduce you to our new black kitty supper duper sooooooon. bisous. x

Good luck on your search to find your next "baby." We've adopted 2 dogs from the Washington Humane Society and they have been the best :o)
