seriously overdid it on t-day. beau and i had only had a piece of ezekiel toast before hosting all the yogis at tranquil space on t-day, then drove out to WV where his parents were waiting for us and prepping a yummy meal. had a few servings of veggie stuffing that was so divine i went back to the kitchen to get more, noshed on my fave crescent rolls, mashed potatoes, jelled cranberry sauce, and a faux chicken filet which sent me over the edge.
we had a lovely time yesterday relaxing around the cabin and headed to panorama on the peak for some yummy local, organic dining. i savored a poached pear salad, goat cheese ravioli, wild berry pie with lemon crust a la mode, and peppermint tea. if you're ever out near berkley springs, wv, visit this amazing restaurant. we then watched 4 christmases while noshing on freshly-popped popcorn. total treat. super cute movie if you haven't seen it.

today reality kicks in as i have TONS of graduate school work to do: presentation on monday, papers due on monday, 15-page final papers due in two weeks, lots of reading. think i may savor a hot bath, yoga practice, nap, and then dive in. gotta be well rested, right? or am i procrastinating. hmmm.
wishing you a beautiful holiday weekend. may you indulge in portion control (ah!), get your holiday shopping done early, savor the scents of pine, berries, and peppermint, and enjoy time with loved ones.

Looks like you guys had a great Thanksgiving ... congrats on your newest book! I can't wait to check it out.
I hope I don't have to wait longer for my copy, it's coming from Amazon UK :) It looks great! I love the look inside feature that Amazon does.
Happy Thanksgiving! Sounds like it was a great day.
I also wanted to thank you for being so inspiring. Doing all you do on top of grad school has reassured me that I can go to grad school and fulfill my creative dreams as well. I just have to be honest about what I really want, prioritize and then be disciplined enough to get what needs to be done. And, most importantly, remember to be gentle with myself when I inevitably fall short of perfection and carve out time to relax!
