dearest you,
as i continue to make friends with 2013 and settle back into my counseling routine at internship, i wanted to send a quick love note to my readers. oui, you!
as you may know, i'm working to consciously shift the weekly columns on this blog to provide more meaning, insights, and tranquility. one slight shift is turning the online book club into a seasonal selection versus monthly. more slight shifts to follow. the reason i'm writing is to get YOUR input. i've received a few very thoughtful emails so far and i'm beyond grateful. however, i'd love to receive a few more.
s'il vous plaît share what would best serve YOU and help bring a dose of sparkle to your 2013. i feel some exciting things bubbling up and want my dear readers to be a part of the process.
wishing you moments of tea sipping, journal writing, and deep living. bisous. x

Sorry i posted on the entry below. Maybe something about some of the history of yoga or about the Gods and Goddesses?
more, more and more (or something regular) about visual/journaling, your daybook ... pretty please!
Love the visual journaling. I'm also reading "Rock the World Rehab" and think author Denise Marie Nieman would make a great guest on your pod cast. :)
what happened with meatless Monday column?those recipes where super.and how about a column about yoga for beginners?Efi.
First of all, I love everything you write and everything you do, which makes it difficult to imagine anything else! But, after some thought over a nice cup of vanilla-honey tea, I did think of one thing I would love.
I imagine you've learned so so much in your MSW program about a range of issues that may connect, in some way, yoga, creativity, healthy living, etc. Perhaps you could write mini-essays with an associated podcast/video that have a counseling/human development theme and tie together some of these things you already do (and that we all love)? Just a thought! I'm sure whatever you decide to add will be wonderful.
Example (I can't resist!): I know a lot of people going through career changes. An essay/video from you could introduce some of the psyhcological theory that explains the impact of career change (identity shifts - stressful!) and then there could be instruction in yoga poses that cultivate a sense of balance and stability (someone give me a tree!) AND visual journaling exercises that help ease the transition from an old self image (pix of someone at their office) to a new self image (image of successful pastry chef!)
I may have come up with that last example because I'm hungry, but you get the idea. Anyway, enjoy the brainstorming process!
FYI ~ Normally I can spell "psychological". Just not today. :-)
Hi Kimberly, I love your blog - it's definitely a daily dose for me. I've been following you for years - since 2008. So a few of my (humble) opinions.....your voice - not guest writers. The year you had guest writers, I lost interest, because this blog is all about your journey, and your process. I love daily glimpses of your life, what kinds of issues you deal with, and how. So often, we get taken up with the theory of how to do things, but it's so much better if we hear about how someone is really dealing with it. I remember in particular when a friend had hurt you deeply and it took you a while to process it...even yoga teachers and Tranquility Mavens need to process things before moving toward forgiveness. These kinds of examples show me (and maybe your other readers) that no-one is perfect, regardless of how their life looks. Your blog has been so different from lifestyle blogs because it is real, granular, and authentic. So above all else, please keep that aspect and don't candy-coat things.
I'm a bit late to the party here, but I want to second what Melanie said. I miss the days when every podcast wasn't an interview, as well. It's nice to hear your personal accounts of how you're living up to your Manifesto, including the hurdles you're facing and ultimately what leads to your success in overcoming those issues. It's nice to be introduced to new things and ideas, but as this is your blog, I would like to hear more about you, personally. Share with us your thought process and ideas that have inspired you, etc. But the key is YOU! I can't speak for everyone but I will say that I came for the Sparkly and stay for the Kimberly.
Hi Kimberly,
I would love to see you incorporate more VIDEO in your blog and courses. For instance, you transitioned the seasonal calls to a podcast, what about a pre-recorded videocast? You could also introduce the online book with an introductory video. Maybe you could also alternate your podcasts with videocasts. Thanks for all the inspiration!
I Love the week in review, it really keeps me accountable plus I Love the savvy sources of new courses you take or books you read, super helpful.
I love hearing about you, your journey and your ideas on business, art journaling, anything really. You brighten up my day and I look forward to receive your posts.
Kimberly, I love your blog as is! I really enjoy the meatless Monday recipes, as well as your "week in reviews"/"weekend wishlists" (they always make me feel like I have not accomplished as much as I would like, but also to reflect!) I really enjoy your personal stories and hearing about your journey. Thank you for being a consistent inspiration.
I'm late posting to this.
I echo what Melanie and Nicole said - I didn't like the guest posters personally. I follow you and read your posts not someone elses who I could read at any other blog if I wanted to. I come to your blog for you.
I liked what you did most of all when you were Hip Tranquil Chick in those days and you'd do a podcast with just you talking.
I like reading/hearing your personal accounts of stuff. You as you is enough and what we want :) Your blog etc. doesn't have to be perfect and not being perfect and keeping it simple is a good thing because it makes it more authentic. It's nice to know you feel tired sometimes too or are struggling with something, aswell as all the highlights!
PS My daybook arrived hooray and I love it :)
i'm about to send you an email about this blog post - but i can't even begin to say how beautiful it is that you are reaching out to your readers for input! so, so generous. thank you kimberly for all you do to bring sparkle to our lives! :)
ladies, thank YOU so much for your feedback here and via email. i'm over the moon for all the input and it really helps as i continually strive to make tranquility du jour a source of deep (and sparkly) meaning for us all. i will continue to mull over your suggestions and refer back to june's survey as i work to make friends with 2013 and host a helpful, holistic, and inspiring tiny corner of the world wide web. thank you again for the time and attention you've put into your feedback. together we will create great things! x
