pink sugar *giveaway*

dearest readers,

as i sit in my hotel room noshing on cotton candy (i know, i know) after a long day o' learning, i am super excited to offer one lucky commenter this fabulous cotton candy-smelling perfume. i picked it up this evening while listening to a glorious 6-piece big band lit by enormous chandliers. oui, i bought one for me, too! donning it now and absolutely loving it. it's the little things. . . and this is a divine little thing. truly a slice of heaven crafted by basin white. j'adore sharing goodies from travels!

to qualify, simply leave a love note, tranquil summer tip, or requête (request) in the comment section below by midnight ET friday, august 19. the lucky winner will be chosen randomly
and announced on saturday, august 20.

merci for reading, watching, following, and being open to my random musings a la tranquility.
i heart you. bisous. x

My Sweet,
Wanted you to know how much you've inspired me & the outcome. Created (3 Blogs) and my (1) E-book, business cards, a teleclass series and possible E-course. I will send you the first copy of the E-book once it's edited. Thank you so much!
Can't wait for the E-Course coming up so excited! Funny note throughout my writing had to stop myself from writing oodles, among all of your other expressions they've stuck like glue LOL
Love you, thank you!

Are you staying at the Grand Floridian? Lovely hotel! And there's nothing wrong with indulging in a sweet treat. In the summertime I like to treat myself to a frozen hot chocolate made with dark chocolate. Yum!

hmm, my tranquil summer tip would have to be cucumbers and citrus in everything. There is literally nothing more thirst quenching and calming than water with cucumber slices and mint in a mason jar! That will take some of the sting out of even the hottest afternoons!

my tranquil summer tip (if england gets any sun this year) is use lots and lots of good quality sun protection and then moisterise when you come in doors to keep you skin super soft and healthy and drink lots of ice cold lemon water to make yourself sprakle from the inside out! xxx

The chandelier is gorgeous! Also, I wanted to share one of my favorite things about summer that makes me happy.....spending time outside with my pooch and husband. We take loads of walk to the library and to get ice cream for summer indulgences.

Just love you. Every day I look forward to reading your blog and finding out what incredible things you are doing on your life path. You inspire me to do great things and be more giving, but yet, to indulge in life and enjoy living. You are the chocolate sprinkles on my life sundae!!

My summer tip is to keep a list of things you want to do or see and check them off as you go. It is a great reminder of the things you have done, especially when you are feeling like you haven't done anything fun. :) Make lots of down time to relax and enjoy being. ;)

Thanks for creating a blog that gets me through my workday and a podcast that gets me through my workout. Enjoy your trip and keep the good stuff coming!

Pink Sugar...so Kimberly. I bet it smells like a dream. I just love the Tranqulity du jour podcasts. I think I am just starting my fourth time of listening to them all starting at #1 and working my way all the way through. I learn something different from them each time.

Hi Kimberly- I'm so glad that you're enjoying your stay! It sounds kind of simple, but one of the things I love about the summer is taking walk, cooling off with a shower, and sitting on the deck with some iced green tea, a good book, and letting my hair dry in the sun. For some reason, it's so relaxing, and I love that I'm not drying out my hair with a blowdryer. :>

tranquil summer tip: taking time to actually sit by my backyard pool and relax with a stack of magazines, a glass of bubbly and enjoy living in FL even though I miss DC and TS much much much! Enjoy the surroundings you live in!

Here are my 3 summer must rituals. #1 I have to eat my breakfast outside in my back yard. Everyone's gone, it's just me, my dog Daisy and mother nature, it's a beautiful way to start the day, eat, pray, give thanks for just being. #2 Viparita Karani, also outside, looking at the endless sky upside down gives me a big new persepetive after a stressful day. And #3 home made pitchers of ice tea, mixing all kinds of tea bags together. When that pitcher comes out of the fridge it's a new taste sensation every time and not a bad one yet! I'm like a mad tea making scientist! Of course you can't go wrong with tea! xo

in summertime, i oddly enjoy going heavy on the floral and herbal perfumes, blending in with the blossoming aromatics that fill the air... let the mosquitos eat cake i say!

Another lovely blog post Kimberley!

My tip for a great summer is picnics! I like to create picnic opportunities whenever I can and use pretty japanese bento boxes and vintage serviettes. I have a beautiful thermos flask and put iced tea or home made lemonade in it. A pretty rug, my wind up radio and a good book and we are ready to go!

I'd love to win the Pink Sugar perfume. I absolutely adore it and ran out a few months ago.

I don't have any new tips but thought I would mention that I found you after a search on how people use their Planner Pads. I've used one since 2002... D-I-V-I-N-E!!! And through you I found a love of many things.

Here's a tip I learned from my hairdresser a few year's back, when you're at the beach or pool add a little leave in conditioner to your hair for a deep conditioning treatment from the sun. :-)

Tranquil summer tip: spritz lavender water (you can make your own with lavender essential oil + distilled water) on your clothes before/after you wear them. I even spritz it on myself while wearing them. It's a light, nonoffensive scent and will keep you smelling lovely.

Tranquil tip: I like softer lighting for my at-home yoga practice. I turn off my main lights and use shaded lamps and candles (at a safe distance from my practice area) to make the environment more relaxing.

Request: what about TdJ-inspired music choices for various activities?

ooh, reading Jen´s comment above about frozen green grapes just brought me back to some wonderful childhood summer memories ... Now I´m definitely inspired to pop some grapes in the freezer!

A tranquil summer trip of my own is exchanging manicures with a good friend. Why go to a salon when you can do each others nails? It´s a treat to be treated, to treat someone else, and to have that lovely quality time with a gal pal. I´m not even much of a nail-painter, but a bright shiny coat in summer makes me feel fresh and vibrant!

tranquil summer tip: I have been loving the walks with my husband and doggies just after sunset. Warm summer nights plus a breeze equals happiness!

*Tranquil Summer Tip*
Plan a midnight picnic with your beau or best girlfriend--lay on a blanket (in a park, on your roof or on the beach) and try to spot shooting stars :)
